After exporting a line plot to SVG, I checked the file. It is interesting the format uses the "path" instead of the "polyline". According W3 SVG, "path" is for shapes instead of lines. Used for a line, it still sometimes imports as a zero width shape instead of a line.

More an informational issue unless W3 changes how shapes are handled in an upcoming version.

When using *declination auto <x> <y> <z> it is hard to check if it is actually working correctly. It would be helpful therefore if the declination value used (based on location and date) was recorded in the process log file.

general notion: it should be possible to process subsurveys from a file. e.g. cavern --survey surveyname would only process that named survey (and anything it contains). This would allow processing of structured survex data as if it were split into multiple files, but allowing more freedom in how files are structured, is useful in identifying lengths of segments (especially when a survex file may not be processable on it's own due to disjoint segments)

This would also be potentially useful in implementing loop-closure tools.
