Known Issues with 1.4.12

• The Microsoft Windows installer currently doesn't have aven's new "Overlay Geodata" feature enabled due to a bug somewhere in the dependencies of this feature. If you really want to have this feature available, use 1.4.9 for now (or if you have access to Linux or macOS, use one of those instead).

• The Microsoft Windows installer is now built via Github actions; previously Olly cross-compiled it on his Linux development machine. This means you need to trust Github, which is owned by Microsoft, but you are running a Microsoft OS so you presumably trust Microsoft already.

• The Microsoft Windows installer no longer support Vista. Microsoft ended support over 7 years ago so we don't expect it to still be in use.

• The Microsoft Windows installer now installs a 64-bit build.

• The Microsoft Windows installer is now a much larger download and it requires significantly more disk space to install. We'd like to reduce this, but it seems hard to do.

• Survex 1.4.x requires PROJ >= 6.2.0. If you need to build with an older version of PROJ, Survex 1.2.x works with PROJ < 8.
