          something like that).  The warning is now given in this situation

          still append this to the title (and remove it upon reading), but in
          the 3d v8 format, the flags will be stored explicitly in the file.

          the valid range to be specified, but for now we infer it from the
          zero error - if this is within 45 degrees of 90 then we assume the
          range is 0 to 180.
