          the valid range to be specified, but for now we infer it from the
          zero error - if this is within 45 degrees of 90 then we assume the
          range is 0 to 180.

          the new "version 1" by compiling with -DIMG_API_VERSION=1, which
          gives the survey dates in days in days1 and days2 instead of as
          time_t values in date1 and date2.  Fixes ticket#14.

          some which had the wrong descriptions.
          Use GL_POINT_SPRITE and GL_COORD_REPLACE instead of

          numeric values, so the shorter (now official) names are better.

          rotations rather than messing around setting up and then decoding a
          quaternion.  This fixes some glitches when tilting while looking
          east, and eliminates 2 source files and 2 headers!
