          long checked for .XYZ, we continue to do so in case anyone is
          relying on it, but also check for the other extensions.

          "69").  However, the gradient reading from a topofil is typically in
          the range 0 to 180, with 90 being horizontal.  Really we should allow
          the valid range to be specified, but for now we infer it from the
          zero error - if this is within 45 degrees of 90 then we assume the
          range is 0 to 180.

          glyphshow in the generated PostScript code rather than relying on the
          numeric encoding order of the font to match Unicode (which doesn't
          generally seem to be the case).  Tweak to process files without
          slurping them all into memory where that's easy to do.

          which stores survey dates as number of days since Jan 1st 1900, so
          we now support dates from 1900-2078 (rather than 1970-2037) with a
          smaller file size.  The img API is now versioned - you can select
          the new "version 1" by compiling with -DIMG_API_VERSION=1, which
          gives the survey dates in days in days1 and days2 instead of as
          time_t values in date1 and date2.  Fixes ticket#14.
