          and the wx developers consider even 2.8 to be rather long in
          the tooth.  I haven't test build with wx 2.6 for more than a year
          and it's no longer packaged for Debian.  Dropping support for
          older wx allows a number of workarounds to be removed.

        * src/datain.c,tests/: We want to warn if there's a clino reading which
          it would be impossible to have read from the instrument (e.g. on a
          -90 to 90 degree scale you can't read "96" (it's probably a typo for
          "69").  However, the gradient reading from a topofil is typically in
          the range 0 to 180, with 90 being horizontal.  Really we should allow
          the valid range to be specified, but for now we infer it from the
          zero error - if this is within 45 degrees of 90 then we assume the
          range is 0 to 180.

        * Makefile.am: Update list of wxstd.mo files we package for wxmsw
          (add pt and sk) and where we copy them from.  Copy the unofficial
          InnoSetup i18n files (.isl) from lib.

          some which had the wrong descriptions.
          Use GL_POINT_SPRITE and GL_COORD_REPLACE instead of
          GL_POINT_SPRITE_ARB and GL_COORD_REPLACE_ARB.  They have the same
          numeric values, so the shorter (now official) names are better.

          rotations rather than messing around setting up and then decoding a
          quaternion.  This fixes some glitches when tilting while looking
          east, and eliminates 2 source files and 2 headers!
